Nightly Running

Learning Objective One
11/07/2022 - 12/07/2022

For a month, I ran one mile five times a week in my neighborhood. This experience was very spontaneous and not super well planned. I used to run frequently for sports and determined that starting to run again would be healthy and ultimately good for me. There was little planning, besides ensuring that I ran five times each week. I left two days for rest days, or in the event I had too much homework that night or stayed out late.

I grew due to this experience. I originally didn’t exercise much, if at all, and running became a way for me to become healthier physically. Additionally, after the month ended, I did not stop running. Although I do not run five times a week, I often run once or twice during the week to exercise and release my excess energy. However, the benefits of running did not end at physical health. I often found myself running long distances when I felt upset or sad; it became an emotional outlet for me to reflect. As a result, I feel healthier, both physically and mentally.
